California Workforce Development gets funds for training nurses.

The Governor of California's 2005/06 budget gives the Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA) the necessary tools and resources it needs to spearhead major efforts to increase capacity for nurse education programs, as well as to go after the bad guys in the California underground economy via the Economic Employment Enforcement Coalition (EEEC). Your remark about the 'bad guys in the underground economy' is well made. We need to be getting more, better trained nurses into the sector to make the underground workers less attractive. Also, we need to be doing things like making available to our legitimate teams of nurses things like good teambuilding program so they will stay employed here, and not leave for greener pastures, thus opening up gaps for the 'underground' workers. Higher pay, more training and better teambuilding. I think these would all help get and keep nurses, and reduce the need for 'underground' people.
