Corporate governance online course - concepts explored.

Gatlin Education Services has launched a corporate governance online course. This course explores the concepts and definitions of corporate governance and ethics in today's business world.

The need for corporate governance and ethics policies and programs has grown tremendously since the Enron and other corporate scandals of recent years. This course explores ethical responsibilities to both external and internal stakeholder groups. A twin theme of corporate business ethics and governance illustrates how ethical or moral considerations are included the public issues facing organizations and the decision making process of managers.

This course is now being offered by community colleges and universities nationwide.

SERNRA conference on vocational rehabilitation was a success.

We recently returned from the Southeast region's conference on vocational rehabilitation. We met with a number of program administrators and vocational rehabilitation counselors. Virtually none of them were aware of the fact that Gatlin Education Services provides on-line career programs to their local community colleges and university.

Many vocational rehab counselors expressed great enthusiasm about the wide variety of courses offered by Gatlin and how affordable the courses are vs. what private career colleges charge for similar courses. We think people also were really appreciative of the fact that Gatlin's courses did not require the student to be "accepted" by the college since they are offered through the continuing education departments.

If you manage the Gatlin program for your institution, we highly recommend contacting your nearest vocational rehab office and take the time to educate them about the Gatlin courses you offer. Contact us for more information about the location of your nearest vocational rehab office or contact your office for students with disabilities.

VNU Learning is offering four instructional design seminars.

"In 2005, VNULearning.com provides you with four chances to jump-start your career at events focused exclusively on instructional design. The four Instructional Design Institutes held this year in San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago and Orlando are a great way to hone your design skills while interacting with fellow designers.

Combining the intensive skill building of a three-day certificate program with valuable networking and other social elements of a conference, the four separate IDI certificate programs are conducted by top industry experts and provide you with the theories, best practices and applications you need to become (and remain!) a top performer. By the end of the third day, you'll not only walk away with a certificate, you'll also propel your career and enhance your professional know-how. "
